Project 3 and Final Exam

Project 3

Reminder that the due date for project 3 is approaching: 10pm, Sunday 22nd June 2014.
Project 3 is weighted at 30% of your overall mark for the course.

You do not need to email me or Andrew your submission. As stated in the course outline: The Final Submission of each project is to be uploaded online to the your blog no later than the Due Date.

I’d like to reiterate the deliverables:
  •         3D model (uploaded and linked on your blog).
  •         3-4 minute animation (hosted on youtube or vimeo, or uploaded to dropbox or embedded in your poster)
  •         Digital poster including design proposal summary, 3D images and 2D drawings (uploaded and linked on your blog)

Basically, I don’t mind where you upload or host these, as long as they are online and accessible.

Final Exam

The final exam will be an online exam that will test your knowledge of the material delivered in the lectures. Students must achieve a minimum result of 80% in the exam to pass the course. Students may attempt the exam multiple times (only the highest result will be recorded).
Open Date: 10pm, Sunday 22nd June 2014 (the same time Project 3 is due)
Close Date: 10pm, Friday 27th June 2014

You can already view this information about the exam on the course page on Moodle. Please use either Mozilla or Chrome when attempting the exam. Internet explorer, Opera and Safari are not officially supported by Moodle.

I recommend downloading the lectures as PDFs before you attempt the exam, and well before the closing date. If you have any issues accessing the lectures, please notify me immediately. That being said, the lectures are available on Moodle and on this blog (Dropbox link + embedded slides), so it’s unlikely that all three will be down at any one time.

Goodluck with Project 3 and the final exam!

Please make sure the reference files (each of the model's you submitted) are in the same folder as the class-site-model.3dm, otherwise your buildings won't appear.

Note that the layers: contours, terrain and aerial shot, are all locked. feel free to unlock them and modify them (especially if you want to change the terrain).

Any updates that you wish to make to your models, should be saved using the same name. That way any student can drag and drop them into the folder, and rhino will load up the updated model when it next opens.

Thank you all for those who contributed to the site model, your efforts will be reflected in your marks.

Class Site Model - Forum on Moodle

Dear All,

I have created a forum section on moodle called Class Site Model.
Please use this forum to post links to your group's photos, point cloud files, and 3D models.

Each group should post their model before the start of next studio class (Friday 9th May 2014), as stated in week 8's exercise.

Please adhere to the naming convention for all uploaded files
When creating your models, please adhere to the modelling conventions (units, layers etc) and download the 3D model template.
